# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The spicy kick against cool crunchy slaw is exactly what summer eating should taste like
  • It comes together in under 30 minutes but looks like something from a restaurant patio
  • The marinade does double duty making the shrimp incredibly flavorful while keeping them tender
02 -
  • Pat the shrimp dry before marinating or the oil will not coat them properly and they will not develop that nice sear
  • Cut your mango into thin strips so it mixes evenly with the cabbage rather than sinking to the bottom
  • Let the slaw sit for at least 10 minutes after dressing to soften the cabbage slightly
03 -
  • Buy shrimp that are already peeled and deveined to save precious time and avoid that messy work
  • Let your marinated shrimp come to room temperature for 10 minutes before cooking, they will sear much more evenly
