# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It feels fancy but takes less effort than making toast
  • The ginger warms you from the inside without being spicy or overwhelming
  • You can serve it to guests or eat it alone in your pajamas and either feels right
02 -
  • Do not skip the foil in the first bake or your pears will dry out and taste like disappointment
  • Grate the ginger right before mixing because it loses its punch if it sits too long
  • If your pears are rock hard they will not soften in time so choose wisely at the store
03 -
  • Use a melon baller to core the pears cleanly without wasting fruit
  • Toast the nuts in a dry skillet until they smell nutty because raw nuts taste flat by comparison
  • Serve these with a dessert wine and people will think you planned something fancy
